Meet our CashCo, Alonso

What is up gang!

My name is Alonso, and I am super grateful to be serving as UCM's Treasurer this year. I'm currently going into my third year at UBC, studying Computer Science in the Faculty of Science. I'm so excited to give back to the community that helped me reconnect with my faith at the end of first year, through the amazing people I met during Wednesday Boys Core. A little bit about me:

  • I was born in Ecuador and moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan when I was 7, going from blazing hot to freezing cold.
  • I have a twin sister, Valentina, who's also part of UCM and going into her 3rd year of Mechanical Engineering!
  • I live at the Forge with the other guys serving at UCM, along with some graduated UCM members.
  • I love playing Nintendo party games like Mario Kart, Mario Party, Smash, or some Pico Park, always down to play, just let me know :)
  • My favourite movie is Back to the Future.
  • I love playing soccer, so you'll likely catch me on the pitch some Friday nights.
  • I've started getting back into reading, especially mystery novels and treasure hunts, so if you have any recommendations, shoot them my way!

​I'm thrilled for the upcoming year and how UCM will be able to serve the UBC campus, bringing people together under our one and only loving God. Feel free to tap me on the shoulder any time, I'm always down to chat and grab a coffee, or hot chocolate in my case.
