I became a Christian when I was 3. I was stuck in a tree, prayed, and then was unstuck. That's when I learned that God got people unstuck. I've been a fan ever since. I grew up in the suburbs of Seattle, and so learned long-suffering love through my fanatical attachment to the Seattle Seahawks (go Hawks!). I went to college in Bellingham, Washington and was introduced to poetry and the joy of performing spoken word there. My undergrad was in History and Secondary Education. After Bellingham I moved to Canada to learn stuff at Regent College. I learned a lot of stuff, good stuff. They gave me a degree called Master of Divinity for my learning.
While at Regent I fell madly in love with a church, Grandview Calvary Baptist Church, and after a 3 year courtship, I became the youth pastor there. There are a lot of things kicking around in my thinker these days, I'll mention a few of the things I'm wondering about. I wonder how Christ's story and scripture is relevant and transformational in the ordinary and mundane parts of our life, how to experience Christ by being present with the marginalized, and how social justice and worship are related. Other important things about me: I watch a lot of cartoons and nature documentaries, I love fishing and hiking, I think dancing is an important spiritual practice.
