A Christ-centered community at UBC
We are an interdenominational, international, Christian student community recognized on the UBC campus by the AMS and as a member of the ACC (Association of Christian Clubs). We believe that the Bible is God's Word and that God offers forgiveness of sin and the free gift of life to all through faith in Jesus Christ. We desire to be open to the dynamic work of God's Spirit in our midst. UCM at UBC is an interdenominational ministry supported by and accountable to the PAOC (Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada) Chaplaincy at UBC.
UCM's mission is to promote the spiritual life of university students by helping them enter into and grow in their relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Our vision is to foster a university community where opportunities are provided for worship, fellowship, discipleship, prayer, and outreach.
What do we believe?
We believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary: Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell: The third day he rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty: From there he will come to judge the living and the dead: We believe in the Holy Spirit: We believe in the universal church: the communion of saints: The forgiveness of sins: The resurrection of the body: And the life everlasting.

Community Values
Worship
God loves to receive the praises of His people. We are Christ's family, created by God. We love and serve God, share His goodness with the world, and thank Him for the love and kindness that He has shown us. Everyday our lives are to be an offering of praise to God.
Prayer
We want to allow our hearts and lives to continually be examined by God as we pray from a posture of faith and humility for our needs and the needs of our campus community, the city of Vancouver, Canada and the world.
Fellowship
"In the same way I loved you, you love one another" (John 13:34). Jesus' love, modeled for us by His relationship with His disciples, is our motivation to pursue community with each other. No believer is 'an island', but rather a member of the Body, united by the Holy Spirit. We love, pray for, support, and care for each other. This love is enabled by the Holy Spirit, and produces harmony in relationships.
Discipleship
We seek to help students grow in Christ-likeness through Bible Study, prayer, service, developing spiritual gifts, and leadership opportunities. We believe that discipleship is best accomplished in the relational context of not neglecting the masses, but concentrating on a few. After all this is the example Jesus modeled for us. We desire to develop Christian student leaders who are passionate about joining with God in what He is already doing on the university campus, and equip future leaders who will serve the local church beyond graduation.
Outreach
Have you ever observed something so spectacular, unusual, or unbelievable, that you began telling everyone you knew about it? We embrace Christ's commission to go and make disciples teaching them everything Jesus taught. Jesus' mission to mobilize, equip, and send each student to fulfill their distinct calling from God to make an impact for a lifetime - whether in their own sphere of influence, the marketplace, or in the broader framework of the world.
