What is Core?
Cores are discipleship groups that are "core" to our vision of community at UCM. It's here that you'll find community with substance, seeking mutual growth and encouragement through truth in God's word. Come to know others deeply and to be known, learn together, share your life with others, and to pray for and worship with one another. Groups meet every week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Everybody is encouraged to join a Core and newcomers are always welcome.
More than a Bible study
Find community with others who are curious about God. It's a safe place to ask questions; It's a place for discipleship; It's a place to share the good and the bad. Most importantly, it is a place for you to live out the mission of God alongside others.
Cores in 2021
As COVID-19 and surrounding guidelines are continuing to shift, Cores are planning to transition back to in-person gatherings. However, we know that everyone has different comfort levels during this transition and we want all to feel able to participate. Because of this, we will be working to include online options for Core gatherings. Cores in-person will be adhering to health guidelines recommended by the Government of British Columbia, and may meet online as well dependent on the latest guidelines.
Not sure if you're into a full on bible study?
The Alpha course is a place for all people to ask whatever questions they want and see what Christianity is actually about. No commitment required, this is meant for people who want to explore. The environment is designed to be a no judgement zone where everybody journeys through the questions together.
Alpha runs annually on campus at UBC. Dinner is provided!
