Meet Rebekah

Hey hey hey!

​My name is Rebekah (but most people just call me Beka) and I’m jumping into the social coordinator role at UCM this year! I’m currently heading into my third year at UBC Sauder where I am completing my Commerce degree with a concentration in Business Law. I ADORE Vancouver and am always down to head to the beach or go for a weekend hike, but before moving here I grew up in the GTA right across the street from Canada’s Wonderland.

A few things I love are:
  • Coffee Shops! I am a longtime barista and always on the lookout for Vancouver’s best matcha + almond croissant (PLEASE let me know spots you wanna try and I’ll gladly tag along). 
  • Animals! I AM 100% the girl that interrupts my conversations to tell a stranger they have a beautiful dog and have many cats in my own life. 
  • Sports! I love to play soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, spikeball etc. and also love watching NCAA volleyball in my free time.
  • Storytelling! Some call it yapping but I call it storytelling. Whether it be on Macinnes field, over brunch, around a fire or anywhere in between I love to hear about people’s lives and the cool things they’re getting up to! 

I’m so excited to see what God has in store for the UCM family this upcoming school year and what better way to experience the love of Jesus then in the company of one another? The first thing Jesus did when he came was gather a group of disciples, and my hope for this community is that it is a space for the same sense of fellowship to arise among the UBC student body. I am PUMPED to be your personal cheerleader, delighting in the joy that is your presence on our campus and creating spaces that foster relationships that go deep, in the spirit of authenticity, discipleship, and love.

From studying to meals to dancing to worshipping to spikeball-playing to stressing to celebrating, I am so excited to invite this community to do life alongside one another, from the mundane to the most memorable times all in an attempt to live like Jesus :)
